It's strange being at PIR and not racing and I kept feeling as if I was forgetting something. Due to a recent crash (Nincrossi got the best of me) and upgrade, I decided to take a night off. It was great to see the B race for once...so much heart! I also prefer shooting in the low natural light and Tuesday was amazing for that.
A man I met briefly while walking the course summed up my feelings about the Trophy Cup nicely...so, thanks Bruce for making this week's post easier! "I've been parking my truck in this same spot for 11 years now and it's cool to be here [at PIR] for a different reason. My boy just started racing bikes, but not the motorized kind. Bike racing is different...I mean, you are your machine. Moto racing takes your right hand, your eyes and a set of balls and yeah...there's still a connection there. But, bike racing takes a whole lot more heart. Plus, it's actually competitive. Y'all are here for fun, but y'all are also here to win. Well, at least that's the goal."
The light continues to wane and the Trophy Cup enters the final week of racing. This year continues to be better each race. It's been a terrific opening of the season, let's all keep it up.
